Akron 68, Akransas-Pine Bluff 65
AKRON, Ohio (AP) -Nikola Cvetinovic scored 12 points, including a go-ahead layup with 37 seconds remaining, to lead Akron in a 68-65 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Friday night.

Cvetinovic was 6-for-10 from the field for the Zips (3-2). Anthony Hitchens chipped in with 11 points.

With 4 minutes remaining, Akron held a 64-59 lead. But the Golden Lions went on a 6-0 run, and two free throws from Terrance Calvin with 50 seconds left gave Arkansas-Pine Bluff a 65-64 advantage.

Cvetinovic's layup, however, gave the Zips back the lead, and two free throws from Hitchens made up the final margin.

The Golden Lions had one last chance to tie, but Dominic Moore was stripped by Hitchens as the clock expired.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff (0-4) was led by Savalance Townsend, who scored 15 points. Tyree Glass added 13.

Cornell 78, Toledo 60
PHILADELPHIA (AP) -Ryan Wittman scored 20 points and Jeff Foote tallied a double-double, leading Cornell over Toledo 78-60 on Friday.

Louis Dale and Geoff Reeves scored 14 points apiece in the Legends Classic for the Big Red (3-2), who also got 12 points and 12 boards from Foote. Alex Tyler added 10 points.

Toledo was up 11-7 early, but Cornell produced an 8-0 run to take the lead and an 11-2 run to close out the first half with a 14-point lead.

But Jay Shunnar's 3-pointer with just over 10 minutes to play pulled the Rockets (0-4) within 56-53.

Cornell went on another 11-2 run from that point, though, sealing the win. Wittman led the game-winning spree with four points.

Stephen Albrecht paced the Rockets with 20 points and Jake Barnett added 13.

The Big Red outrebounded the Rockets 34-27.
