The Cardinals enter today's game with a 3-5 record after falling 83-63 to Wisconsin-Green Bay Thursday night in Worthen Arena... Junior forward Emily Maggert earned her seventh double-double of her career and fifth of the season after leading the Cardinals with 17 points and 14 rebounds... The Cardinals outrebounded the Phoenix 36 to 20, but the Phoenix made 56 percent of their shots, including 63 percent from the three point arc... The Redbirds enter today's contest with a 3-2 overall record... In its last game Illinois State outscored Northern Illinois 44-22 in the second half to come out on top 85-57 last Friday at Redbird Arena... Maggie Krick led all scorers with 24 points and added eight rebounds, and Ashleen Bracey chipped in with 18 points and nine rebounds.

After playing seven of its first eight contests on the road, including the last five in a row, Western Michigan gladly returns to the friendly confines of University Arena for a three-game stretch... In its last outing, Western Michigan couldn't find a rhythm, shooting a season-low 29.2 percent on the road at Eastern Illinois in a 66-58 loss Wednesday night... Taylor Manley paced the Broncos with 18 points... Brenna Banktson was the only other player in double figures for Western Michigan with 11 points. Miame Giden finished with nine points and seven rebounds... Illinois-Chicago is off to a 1-6 start in 2009-10, its only win at home against Niagara, 77-59... UIC is led by 5-8 senior guard Jessie Wilcox, averaging 13.1 ppg and a team-high 21 assists and 16 steals.

Buffalo has lost seven straight games after opening the season with an 87-79 overtime victory over Niagara... Junior forward Kourtney Brown has led the Bulls in scoring seven times and is averaging a double-double with 18.3 points and 11.1 rebounds... YSU has opened the season with eight straight losses, due partly to playing shorthanded... Junior guard Bojana Dimitrov leads YSU with 14.7 points per game and hopes to return after missing two games with an injury.

Northern Illinois at No. 24 Nebraska, 2:00 p.m.

The Northern Illinois women's basketball team plays a top-25 team for the second time this year, as the Huskies square off against the undefeated and 24th-ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers, Sunday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m... Northern Illinois is averaging 66.6 points while surrendering 68.8 points per contest... Marke Freeman, a 5-5 junior guard, leads the Huskies with 17.3 points while adding 3.9 rebounds per game... She also leads NIU in assists (2.4 apg) and steals (2.3 spg), while hitting nearly 90 percent (34-38) of her free throws... Nebraska has tied its best start in school history by winning its first nine games... The Cornhuskers are ranked 24th in the nation, and are defeating opponents by 25.7 points per game... Senior Kelsey Griffin is the heart of the Cornhuskers, leading the team in scoring (17.6 ppg), rebounding (9.3 rpg) and field goal percentage (.622). She is one of four Nebraska players averaging in double-figures scoring.

Looking to rebound from a pair of tough losses, Ohio women's basketball (3-5) wraps up its Keystone State swing against Duquesne (6-3) Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Palumbo Center... the Bobcats fell 65-43 to a strong Temple team Thursday night in McGonigle Hall... Sophomore Da'Keisha Mann tied her career best with a game-high 16 points to lead Ohio on the evening... The Dukes enter the game with a 6-3 record overall, having dropped their last two games to Robert Morris and Lehigh, respectively...The Dukes sport a high-scoring offense that is averaging 70.7 ppg. and is shooting at a 43.9 percent clip from the field, including 37.7 percent from distance... Defensively, Duquesne is giving up 65.9 ppg. on 41.9 percent shooting from the field, while also forcing the opposition into 22 turnovers per game to go with nearly 11 steals an outing.
