Toledo (1-1) travels to Rochester, MI on Wednesday, Nov. 18 to battle Oakland (1-1) in a non-conference contest... The opening tip is slated for 6:30 p.m. from the Athletics Center O'Rena....UT split its first two season-opening contests this past weekend with a 72-62 win over Cleveland State on Sunday, and a 73-64 loss to Northwestern on Friday... The Rockets featured a balanced scoring attack against the Wildcats and Vikings with senior Tanika Mays (14.0), senior Allie Clifton (14.0) and sophomore Naama Shafir (11.5) averaging double-digit points per game.... The Midnight Blue and Gold shot a combined 40.3 percent (52-of-129) from the floor, including 36.7 percent (18-of-49) from beyond the arc, and 70.0 percent (14-of-20) from the charity stripe in earning the split. Toledo also held a slight 40.0-38.5 edge on the glass and finished with 16.0 assists against 20.5 turnovers... Oakland returns four starters and eight letterwinners from last season's 26-7 squad, guided by 10th-year head coach Beckie Francis... The Golden Grizzlies have been picked second in this year's Summit League preseason poll.

Kent State women's basketball (1-0) continues its season-opening four-game road swing this week when the squad heads to regional rival Youngstown State Wednesday for a 5:15 p.m. contest... Kent State rallied from a 12-point second-half deficit with stingy defense and timely free throw shooting to defeat Robert Morris 62-57 Nov. 13 at the Sewall Center... Ellie Shields and Rachel Bennett led the way with 14 points apiece, while Stephanie Gibson added 12 points off the bench, all on three-pointers... Yoshica Spears had a solid game with seven points with a game-high eight rebounds... Youngstown State dropped both of their games at the Elon Tip-Off Classic last weekend, falling 86-66 to the host Phoenix before a 73-50 setback to High Point... Junior guard Bojana Dimitrov leads YSU in scoring this season with 16.0 ppg, thanks to a 21-point effort in the season-opener against Elon... Freshman Brandi Brown is averaging a team-best 10.5 rebounds per game along with 8.5 points per contest.

Junior Shonda Long scored a career-high 30 points and the Central Michigan women's basketball team gave No. 17 DePaul all it could handle before falling, 86-76, in the 2009-10 regular season opener at McGrath Arena on Saturday... Long went 8-for-15 from the fl oor, including 7-for-12 from long range, and Senior Britni Houghton added 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting... CMU is 2-3 against Illinois, but the two teams have met just once since 1985, an 82-44 win for the Illini in 2004...CMU beat Illinois in 74 (56-38) and 77 (79-53) and lost in 70 (42-40), 84 (66-63) and in 2004.
