In a field that included seven top 40 teams Cairns led the Golden Flashes by earning a tie for fifth place in the individual standings. The sophomore had two eagles and eight birdies on the way to his highest finish of the season. For the tournament Carins shot a three-under 213 (70-70-73) for the third top 10 finish of his career.

Lew finished in a team-high tie for 12th this week at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate. The only Zip to score all three rounds in the 70's, Lew posted three rounds of 76-74-75 (225) finishing tied for 12th, his highest finish to date this spring.

Lemons was the top individual for the Eagles, earning a tie for seventh place with a one-over par 217 (74-69-74). Lemons' finish was his first career top 10 showing in 24 career tournaments. Additionally, his second round 69 was his fifth round under par this season and the 11th under-par round of his career. Competing against some of the nation's elite teams, the Eastern Michigan University men's golf team showed that it can hold its own on the links. Head Coach Bruce Cunningham's crew finished in fifth place with a 54-hole total of 895 (299-288-308) Saturday afternoon at the Linger Longer Invitational. The nation's top-ranked team, the University of Georgia, rolled to the two-stoke victory over second ranked Oklahoma State University on the 7,048 yard, par-72 Reynolds Landing Golf Course.
