Getting To Know Ball State's Sean Baker...
Sean Baker is a junior safety for the Ball State Cardinals. Last season, Baker was fifth on the team in tackles with 61 and led the team in interceptions with four. He had an outstanding freshman campaign, earning Mid-American Conference Freshman of the Year and Freshman All-America honors from Sporting News in 2008. That season, Baker recorded 94 tackles, defended 16 passes and led the Cardinals in interceptions with six. He also scored two defensive touchdowns and was named MAC West Division Defensive Player of the Week for his three interception performance against Akron. For his efforts, the Canfield, Ohio native was named the co-recipient of Ball State's John Hodge Award, as the team's Most Outstanding Freshman. Below is a closer look at the Ball State safety...
1. What do you still hope to accomplish in the future?
I still hope to win a Mid-American Conference Championship in my career.
2. What are your goals for this season?
My goals for the season are to win a Mid-American Conference Championship and win the first bowl game in Ball State history.
3. What would you like to be doing in ten years?
In 10 years I would like to be coaching college football.
4. What would your superhero name be?
My superhero name would be Mark Naylor. (Ball State's football strength and conditioning coach)
5. Which three people (dead or alive) would you invite to dinner?
If I could invite three people to dinner, it would be Muhammad Ali, Larry David and Jay-Z.
6. The artist that takes up most of my iPod...
The artists that take up most of my iPod are Drake and Trey Songz.
7. What is one movie you could watch over and over again and not get sick of?
The one movie I could watch over and over would be Role Models.
8. What is your favorite holiday?
My favorite holiday is Christmas.
9. What are your hobbies and off-the-field interests?
My interests off the field are video games, hanging with friends and working out.
10. What is your most memorable moment in sports, either as an athlete or as a sports fan?
My most memorable moment is when we beat Western Michigan to finish the season 12-0 in 2008 and the fans rushed the field.
