MAC Men's Swimmer of the Week
Mike Carroll, Miami - Senior, Toledo, Ohio (St. Francis DeSales High School)
Senior captain Mike Carroll earned two first-place finishes in individual events and also was a member of a winning relay team in Miami's rare swimming tie with Cincinnati (150-150). The 100 breaststroke saw Carroll edge out a Cincinnati competitor with a time of 59.31. Carroll also captured the 200 breaststroke with a swim of 2:10.41, early a second-and-a-half faster than the runner-up from Cincinnati. Carroll swam the second leg of Miami's first-place 200 medley relay team. Miami's dual meet record is now 3-4-1.

Dillon Burns, Missouri State - Junior, Olathe, Kan.
Junior Dillon Burns was a key swimmer for Missouri State in their double dual meet against Southern Illinois and Truman State. Burns swam the anchor leg of the 400-Yard Medley Relay (3:23.61, personal split 46.38) which earned a first-place finish in the meet. He later swam 21.06 in the 50-yard freestyle, also placing first. Burns wrapped up an impressive evening with a contribution in the 400-Yard Freestyle Relay. The relay team came in at 3:08.06 (Burns' split: 46.09) and sealed a victory for the Bears.
Matt Schwippert, Buffalo - Freshman, East Aurora, N.Y. (Iroquois High School)
Freshman Matt Schwippert won a pair of individual events and led-off the first-place 200 medley relay team at Niagara as Buffalo picked up two wins over Niagara and Binghamton last weekend. Schwippert swam the backstroke leg of the winning 200 medley relay (1:36.49) at Niagara and also won the 500 freestyle event in a time of 4:46.95 on Saturday. On Monday against Binghamton, Schwippert won the 200 backstroke in a time of 1:53.39. Schwippert was also a member of Buffalo's "B" 400 medley relay (3:31.94), that finished right behind Buffalo's "A" relay to give the Bulls an early lead.
Austin Laska, Ball State - Senior, Palos Park, Ill. (A.A. Stagg High School)
Senior Austin Laska clocked a time of 21.22 in the 50 freestyle to win the event in last Friday's meet at No. 19 Purdue. Laska also placed fourth in the 100 freestyle with a time of 47.94, while swimming the anchor leg for the second-place 200 freestyle relay that finished in 1:25.06.
