Buffalo (2-8) has dropped eight of its last nine contests since beginning the season with a victory over Niagara... Last time out on December 22, the Bulls fell to Delaware, 85-72.. Buffalo's other win this season came against Youngstown State, 92-38 on December 13... Monday's meeting will be the first ever matchup between the two schools... American comes into Monday's contest with an even 5-5 record in the 2009-10 campaign... In their last time out on Sunday, December 20, the Eagles dropped a 75-64 decision to ACC power Maryland... For the ninth time in 10 games this season, junior forward Michelle Kirk led the Eagles in scoring with 18 points on seven-of-14 shooting against Maryland.

Coming off one of its best games of the season and a break for the Christmas holiday, Ohio returns to the court as it heads to the Sunshine State to take on Florida of the SEC Monday at 4:30 p.m. in the Stephen C. O'Connell Center... The weather outside was cold and snowy, but Ohio turned up the heat inside the Convo and gave the ACC's Clemson all it could handle before coming up just short 89-81 in overtime... Carolyn Barnett scored a career-best 18 points and Jenny Poff notched 22 to lead four Bobcats in double figures ... Ohio's 81 points marked a season high and the 'Cats' highest point total since Jan. 7 of last season... The Gators enter the contest 5-6 on the season after falling 75-68 to High Point in their last game in Gainesville. Florida has lost three of its last five games overall coming into Monday's game ... The Gators are an athletic squad that likes to get up and down the floor and shoot a lot of 3-pointers... They are currently averaging 65.3 ppg. Defensively, they boast a solid squad that is holding the opposition to 60.9 ppg.


Central Michigan vs. Texas, 5:00 p.m. (Miami Holiday Tournament)

Facing its third ranked opponent of the season, the Central Michigan women's basketball team will square off with No. 17 Texas in the opening round of the Miami Holiday Tournament on Monday at the BankUnited Center... Shonda Long finished with 18 points to lead a diverse scoring attack as the Central Michigan offense awoke in an 88-60 victory over Howard at Rose Center on Saturday... Long went 6-for-7 from the field and hit four first-half threes to pace eight different players with at least seven points... Kaihla Szunko also finished in double-figures with 12... Texas is ranked No. 17 in the latest Associated Press poll (Dec. 21) and No. 22 in the latest ESPN/USA Today poll (Dec. 22)...  The Longhorns recorded a season-high 24 assists in their 91-42 win over Texas Southern on Dec. 20, while committing just a season-low 11 turnovers.

The University of Akron women's basketball team will close out the calendar year Monday night when it hosts Temple at 7 p.m. (EST)... The Zips saw their four-game win streak come to an end after a 71-60 defeat at Niagara in their last game on Dec. 20 at the Gallagher Center... Sophomore Kyle Baumgartner and freshman Rachel Tecca each recorded double-doubles in UA's first defeating nearly a month... Baumgartner paced the Zips with 17 points and 12 rebounds while Tecca chipped in with 11 and 13... It was fifth double-double of Baumgartner's career while Tecca accomplished the feat for the second time in three games... Temple (9-2), an NCAA Tournament participant a season ago, enters the game boasting a 9-2 record on the season, including an impressive 62-51 victory over nationall-ranked Rutgers on Dec. 2... Temple has won its last three games on the road and is 5-1 overall... The Owls are led offensively by Shaqwedia Wallace (13.9 ppg) and Kristen McCarthy (11.1 ppg) and are averaging 61.5 points per game while holding their opponents to an average of 53.3.
