The University of Akron women's basketball team will take a three-game win streak to the Windy City when it tips off at Chicago State Thursday at 6 p.m... Rachel Tecca scored 20 points and pulled down 18 rebounds to lead Akron to a 76-51 victory over Lake Erie College Monday night at Rhodes Arena... The Zips were able to pull away for the win by shooting 40.8 percent from the field, while holding the Storm to just 27 percent... UA has won three straight games and four of its last five... CSU is coming off a 73-56 loss at Milwaukee last Sunday despite a 43-39 lead with 17:20 left in the second half... The Cougars struggled from the field the rest of the way, connecting on just three of their next 19 attempts as UWM used a 13-2 run over the next 9:41 to seal the victory... Sisters Alyssa (12.4 ppg) and Courtney Waldon (12.9 ppg) lead the team in scoring.

The Northern Illinois women's basketball team returns to Chicagoland to face Loyola, Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Gentile Center... Senior Kylie York hit two three-pointers to tie the Northern Illinois women's basketball record for threes made in a career, as the Huskies fell 69-44 to No. 24 Nebraska, Sunday afternoon at the Devaney Center... Junior Marke Freeman (Springfield, Ill./Lanphier), who co-led the Huskies with 11 points, also tapped into the record books... She totaled a career-high eight steals, tied for the fifth-most in one game by a Huskie... After opening the season 4-1 with only an overtime loss to Western Michigan demeaning a perfect record, Loyola has lost two games in a row... Elyse Vanbogaert heads up the Loyola attack, which is producing 64.0 points per game... Vanbogaert is averaging 12.9 points per game to with 4.0 rebounds.

After playing four of its last five on the road, Ohio women's basketball returns to the friendly confines of the Convo for a pair of games before breaking for Christmas... The 'Cats will play host to UNC Wilmington Thursday night at 7 p.m. before welcoming Clemson of the basketball-strong ACC Saturday afternoon... Carolyn Barnett and Thia Gholson gave Ohio a huge lift off the bench, and Ohio overcame a 15-point first half deficit, but it was Duquesne that landed the final blow in a hard-fought 52-50 setback late Sunday afternoon in the Palumbo Center ... Ohio (3-6) got 23 big points from its bench and outrebounded the Dukes 39-33, but turnovers bit the 'Cats for the second-straight game as the Green and White coughed up 31 miscues on the day ... UNCW enters the game 3-4 overall on the season after picking up a big 70-40 win over Coastal Carolina its last time out. The Seahawks are scoring 63.7 ppg. on .425 shooting from the field. Defensively, UNCW is strong, giving up just 59.6 ppg. thus far.
