A total of six MAC men's basketball games are on today's schedule. Akron, Ball State, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Miami will all be in action.

Ball State will look to improve to 2-0 on the season today as they host SIU-Edwardsvile.

Tonight In The MAC -- Saturday, November 21

Buffalo (1-1, 0-0 MAC) at Towson (1-0, 0-0 Colonial)
1 p.m. • Towson leads series 3-0

•Buffalo continues its two-game Maryland road trip with a Saturday afternoon tilt at Towson.The Bulls are coming off a 63-53 win at Navy on Thursday night. UB was led by Mitchell Watt who had 13 points and six rebounds. Calvin Betts grabbed his 500th career rebounds at Navy on Thursday. He became only the eighth player in the Bulls' modern Division I era (since 1991-92) to collect 500 rebounds...Towson is 1-0 on the year and is coming off an 82-71 win over Miami last Saturday. The Tigers are led by Calvin Lee who had 25 points and four blocked shots against the RedHawks.


Akron (0-2, 0-0 MAC) vs. Drake (1-2, 0-0 Missouri Valley)
Glenn Wilkes Classic (Daytona Beach, Fla.)
1:15 p.m. • Drake leads series 2-0

•Akron lost to North Carolina State 66-45 on Friday at Ocean Center in the third-annual Glenn Wilkes Classic. The Zips struggled from the field and free throw line, converting 30.9 percent (17-of-55) and 38.9 percent (7-of-18), respectively. The Zips, who have opened a season 0-2 for the first time since 1996-97, were on the losing end of a 39-26 rebounding margin... Drake is coming off a 65-58 victory over Georgia State last night. Ryan Wedel had 15 points and Seth VanDeest added 13 to lead Drake.

SIU-Edwardsville (0-3, 0-0 OVC) at Ball State (1-0, 0-0 MAC)
2 p.m. • Ball State leads series 1-0

•The Cardinals continue the 2009-10 season Saturday afternoon as they host SIU Edwardsville for the second straight season. Ball State enters the contest with a 1-0 record on the year after posting an 88-78 victory over Valparaiso in the season opener. The Cardinals shot 57.8 percent (26-of-45) from the field and connected on 32 free throws in the victory ... BSU had six players reach double figures in the victory, marking the first time since February 7, 1999 (vs. Bowling Green) the Cardinals accomplished the feat...SIU Edwardsville enters Saturday's game with an 0-3 record on the season after dropping its first three games. The Cougars dropped games at Illinois (96-69), against Illinois State (82-60) and at Evansville (76-46). SIU Edwardsville is led by guard Aamir McCleary who averages 11.3 points per game

Eastern Michigan (1-1, 0-0 MAC) vs. Md.-Eastern Shore (0-3, 0-0 MEAC)
Hispanic College Fund Classic (Springfield, Mo.)

• Eastern Michigan will look to improve to 2-1 when the Eagles take on Maryland-Eastern Shore today at the Hispanic College Fund Classic. Eastern Michigan dropped its opening game of the Hispanic College Fund Challenge Friday night as the Bulldogs from the Citadel handed the Eagles a 63-56 loss. Redshirt junior forward Brandon Bowdry scored 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds...Maryland-Eastern Shore is coming off a 70-53 loss to Missouri State (70-53). Hillary Haley and Kevin White each had 11 points for Eastern Shore and Mark Robertson added 10

Central Michigan (2-1, 0-0 MAC) at Fairleigh Dickinson (0-2, 0-0 Northeast)
7 p.m. • Central Michigan leads 1-0

•Looking to start a season 3-1 for the first time since 2002, the Central Michigan men's basketball team hits the road to face Fairleigh Dickinson at Stratis Arena on Saturday. CMU closed out a three-game season-opening homestand with back-to-back wins after dropping its season opener, and looks to get off to a good start on the road against FDU. CMU was 4-13 a year ago when it was outrebounded by its opponent. The Chippewas were edged by Princeton on the glass, 29-28, in the seasonopening 71-68 loss, but have had a positive margin in each of its two wins...FDU is coming off a 80-64 loss to Wichita State. Junior Mike Scott led the Knights with 18 points and six assists; while senior Sean Baptiste had 16 and junior Terence Grier added 11.

Miami (0-3, 0-0 MAC) at Nicholls State (0-3, 0-0 Southland)
Basketball Travelers Tournament (Albuquerque, N.M.)
8 p.m. • First Meeting

• Miami looks for its first win of the season when they take on Nicholls State in the Basketball Travelers Tournament tonight at 8 p.m. Miami is coming off a 74-62 loss to Louisiana Tech last night. Sophomore forward Julian Mavunga paced Miami University's men's basketball team on Friday evening with his first career double-double, producing career bests of 16 points and 12 rebounds while playing a career-most 37 minutes. For the first time this season, including exhibition games, Miami was held under 50 percent shooting in both halves, hitting 43.8 percent of its field goals in each half....Nicholls State is also looking for its first win of the season after falling to New Mexico last night, 83-59. Anatoly Bose had 20 points and six rebounds for the Colonels.
