The Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team returns to the friendly confines of the Convocation Center Monday, Nov. 16, for the first of 13 home games this season... Freshman Chenise Miller made her presence felt in her collegiate debut Friday, Nov. 13, against the University of Illinois-Chicago... The Oak Park, Mich. native paced the EMU attack with a team-best 14 points on 7-of-12 shooting... She also hauled down seven rebounds to do with a block in 19 minutes of work off the bench... Meanwhile, the Mustangs are 3-1 on the year after and have won three straight, including an 86-40 victory over Wright State University Lake Campus, Nov. 14... Freshman forward Keara Marks led the Mustangs with 18 points on 62% shooting. Kiara Kelley and Santrea Bush followed Marks in double-figures with 13 and 10 respectively... Kelley added four assists and steals in a balanced effort.

Buffalo's Kourtney Brown had a school record 22 rebounds against Niagara, the sixth highest total in MAC history... Brown also had a career-high 33 points, her third 30-point game of her career... Sophomore Brittany Hedderson recorded a career-high 19 points against the Purple Eagles, including a career-best four three pointers... Freshman Nicki Hopkins made an immediate impact as she had 14 points in her first ever college game... She converted on four three pointers, including one with 2:51 left in overtime, extending UB's lead to five in the extra period... Hofstra compiled a 16-14 overall record last year, which ranked as the third-best improvement in the nation... Jess Fuller is Hofstra's leading returning scorer and rebounder at 11.9 points and 8.0 rebounds per outing in 2008-09... Fuller also ranked fourth in the nation in blocks per game with an average 3.2 per game.

Looking to rebound from a loss in its season opener, Ohio women's basketball (0-1) returns to the friendly confines of the Convo as it welcomes Navy (2-0) for its home opener Monday night... The 'Cats shot an uncharacteristic 29 percent from the field, while the Vikings took advantage of costly Ohio miscues with 31 points off Green and White turnovers... Jennifer Bushby (Gahanna, Ohio) paced Ohio with eight points and a game-high-tying nine rebounds... Sophomore Maxine Ohakim (Westerville, Ohio) chipped in five points, while Kamille Buckner (Chicago, Ill.) turned in three blocks from the defensive side of the court, marking the 25th multi-block game of her career... The Navy women's basketball team overcame a 23-point first-half deficit to post a 68-61 victory over Elon.
