Toledo took center stage on college football Friday evening with a nationwide audience on ESPN and the Rockets responded by giving head coach, Tim Beckman, his first career victory with a dominating 54-38 win over Colorado at the Glass Bowl.  Toledo's offensive onslaught witnessed the Rockets put up 624 yards of total offense as the Rockets improved to 1-1 on the season.

Rockets quarterback Aaron Opelt combined for six scores and threw for 319 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 109 yards and two additional scores.  Offensively, Toledo running back DaJuane Collins rushed for 160 yards and one rushing touchdown while wide receiver Eric Page added three receptions for 138 yards and one touchdown.

Toledo jumped out to commanding lead compliments of big plays, including a 70 yard touchdown pass from Opelt to Page in the second quarter and an Opelt 27-yard rushing touchdown late in the second stanza, as the Rockets opened a 23-3 lead a the half.  Defensively, Toledo forced four turnovers in the victory.
