Lund recorded the first hat trick of her career as the RedHawks defeated Morehead State, 3-1. Lund tied the game in the 16th minute with a hard shot that hit Eagles goalkeeper Sam Yocke and went in. Lund was far from finished as she scored again about 13 minutes later. Lund fired a shot at the near post that hit the pipe ran along the goal line hitting the far post and then going in the net. Lund finished off her hat trick in the 48th minute after Stephanie Wilson tipped the ball, Lund came sliding in a beat the keeper to close out the scoring. The six points are the most in a game in her time at Miami. The game was the second muliti-goal of her career. 

 

 


Others Nomintated

Britni Back, Akron, Forward, Jr., North Olmsted, Ohio (North Olmsted)        

Back's six points (two goals and two assists) in Akron's win over Pittsburgh was the second most in a match in program history. Back assisted on both of the Zips' first period scores, while the team’s fourth and sixth goals of the game came from her foot as well – one in the 61st minute and the other in the 81st minute.

 

Alexa Arsenault, BGSU, Goalkeeper, So., Richmond Hill, Ont. (St. Theresa of Lisieux)

Made a career-high 12 saves in the Falcons' 3-1 loss at Cincinnati to open the season.

 

Stephanie Martin, Central Michigan, Forward, Jr., Chesterfield Twp., Mich. (Regina)          

Martin scored a minute into the season opener against Detroit and added a pair of assists in the first half as CMU jumped out to a 3-0 lead over Detroit in the first half. The junior standout led the Chippewas in goals (eight) and points (22) a season ago.

 

Deana Kinter, Eastern Michigan, Forward, Jr., Grand Blanc, Mich. (Grand Blanc)     

Scored game-tying goal with only 33 seconds remaining against Michigan. First time the Eagles have not lost to the Wolverines in six games.

 

Kelly Heaton, Kent State, Forward, So., Mississauga, Ontario (Our Lady - Mt. Carmel)

Scored the lone goal in Kent State's 1-0 win at Youngstown State on Sunday.  Heaton broke a 0-0 tie in the 79th minute as the Golden Flashes won their season opener for the first time since 2004 when they went on to win the MAC Regular Season title.

 

Sarah Blake, Toledo, Forward, So., Westlake, OH (Magnificat)         

Blake scored two early second-half goals to lift the visiting Rockets over Cleveland State, 3-0, in the season opener for both teams on Sunday afternoon. Following a scoreless first period, Blake gave UT a 1-0 lead just two minutes into the second stanza when she knocked in a loose ball in front of the goal off a corner kick by junior Molly Cornwell. It was just two minutes later that Blake extended the visitors’ lead to 2-0 when she intercepted a clearance pass and scored her second goal of the day.

 

Ashley Caliendo, Western Michigan, Defender, So., Darien, Ill. (Downers Grove South)     

Caliendo assisted on two goals in the Broncos 3-0 win over Wyoming. The first came off a corner kick, the second came off a long ball to WMU forward Stephanie Skowneski. Caliendo also played a large role in helping the Broncos to a shutout. Caliendo helped shut down the 2007 Mountain West Conference Player of the Year, Tamika Wilson, preventing her from taking a single shot.
