Miami 75, Bowling Green 59

OXFORD, Ohio (AP) -Michael Bramos scored 24 points to lead Miami of Ohio to a 75-59 win over Bowling Green on Sunday in the final regular season game for both teams.

 

Bramos scored 12 of Miami's first 15 points as the RedHawks leapt out to a 15-3 first-half lead and never looked back. Bramos finished 9-of-13 shooting, including five 3-pointers.

 

Tim Pollitz scored 18 points and Eric Pollitz added 11 for the RedHawks (15-14, 9-7 Mid-American).

 

Nate Miller led the Falcons (13-16, 7-9) with 21 points. Brian Moten and Joe Jakubowski each added 13. Bowling Green finishes the regular season on a two-game losing streak.

 

The MAC tournament is scheduled to begin Wednesday at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.

 

Toledo 90, Central Michigan 83 (OT)

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) -Jerrah Young scored 21 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked four shots for Toledo, which beat Central Michigan 90-83 in overtime Sunday.

 

The game went into overtime tied at 73 after Central Michigan's Giordan Watson missed two foul shots with three seconds left in regulation. The Chippewas shot just 13-for-27 from the free throw line as a team.

 

Central Michigan (13-16, 8-8 Mid-American) took an 80-76 lead in overtime, but Tyrone Kent hit back-to-back 3-point shots to give the rockets (10-18, 7-8) the lead for good at 82-80.

 

Toledo led by as much at 15 points in the second half, but the Chippewas went on a 15-0 run to pull ahead 72-70 lead with 1:41 to play.

 

Kent finished with 20 points for the Rockets, who won their first road game of the season. Jonathan Amos had 26 points and was 16-for-19 from the free throw line. Toledo shot 32-for-39 from the line as a team.

 

Watson finished with 21 points and eight assists for the Chippewas, while Jordan Bitzer had 11 points and nine rebounds.

 

Eastern Michigan 82, Northern Illinois 63

YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) -Carlos Medlock shot 3-for-5 from 3-point range and scored 23 points for Eastern Michigan, which led from the first basket and cruised to an 82-63 win on Sunday.

 

The Eagles (13-6, 8-8 Mid-American) led 18-2 3:34 into the game and were ahead 42-30 at halftime of both teams' regular season finale. Eastern was 9-for-18 from 3-point range to the Huskies' 4-for-20.

 

Eastern Michigan's Travis Lewis sank two 3-pointers and made a rebound and an assist in the game's first 1:33, finishing with eight points and nine rebounds.

 

Justin Dobbins scored 20 points and grabbed six rebounds, while Jesse Bunkley had 11 points and Jarred Axon added 10 for the Eagles.

 

Shaun Logan had 20 points and seven rebounds, Darion Anderson had 12 points, and Sean Smith added 10 for Northern Illinois (6-21, 3-12).

 

Ohio 94, Buffalo 80

ATHENS, Ohio (AP) -Leon Williams scored 30 points and Jerome Tillman had 25 points and 10 rebounds as Ohio grabbed an early lead and cruised the rest of the way for a 94-80 win over Buffalo on Sunday afternoon.

 

Bubba Walther added 17 points for Ohio (19-11, 9-7 Mid-American), which led by as many as 22 with 6:36 to play in their regular season finale.

 

Ohio spent the first part of the second half building on their 58-44 halftime lead. Buffalo (10-19, 3-13) rallied late in the game, but it wasn't enough.

 

Andy Robinson scored 23 points and Max Boudreau had 12 for Buffalo, which shot just 41.2 percent for the game.

 

Ohio shot 62 percent and was also 9 of 18 from 3-point range.

 

Western Michigan 57, Ball State 53

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) -Joe Reitz scored five points in the final two minutes, including the game-winning free throws with 36 seconds left, to lead Western Michigan to a 57-53 win over Ball State on Sunday.

 

The victory was the 10th straight at home for Western (19-11, 12-4 Mid-American).

 

The Broncos led for most of the game but had fallen behind 53-50 when Reitz drove toward the hoop for a layup and was fouled with 1:59 left. He converted a free throw to complete the three-point play for a 53-53 tie, then put Western Michigan ahead for good with a pair of free throws with 36 seconds remaining.

 

David Kool scored 19 points for Western, and Reitz had 14.

 

Anthony Newell led Ball State (6-23, 5-11) with 19 points, including three 3-pointers, while Malik Perry added 10 points and seven rebounds.

 

Newell missed two shots in the final 15 seconds with the Cardinals trailing by two, the first a jump shot from the baseline and the second an unsuccessful drive to the basket against two Broncos defenders.

 

Kent State 61, Akron 58

AKRON, Ohio (AP) -Al Fisher hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer that prevented Kent State from blowing a 13-point lead in the final 2 minutes in a 61-58 victory over Akron on Sunday night.

 

The Golden Flashes (25-6, 13-3 Mid-American Conference) rolled to a 32-15 lead at the half and were on top by 13 with under 2 minutes left.

 

But the Flashes had three turnovers during an 8-0 run by Akron that cut the lead to 55-50 with 59 seconds left. A free throw by Jordan Mincy and a dunk by Rodriguez Sherman put Kent State up 58-52 with 28 seconds remaining.

 

Nick Dials hit a 3-pointer with 21 seconds left and then after a turnover by Mike Scott, Jeremiah Wood, who led Akron (21-9, 11-5) with 23 points, hit a tying 3-pointer with 8 seconds remaining.

 

Fisher, who led the Flashes with 17 points, then made the game-winner.

 

Haminn Quaintance added 13 points for Kent State.

 

Brett McKnight had 11 points for Akron.
