Getting To Know...Buffalo's Justin Winters
Justin Winters is a senior linebacker for the Buffalo Bulls. Winters started 11 games last year and ranked third on the Bulls with 79 tackles. He also added seven tackles for loss, four and half sacks, an interception and a fumble recovery. Winters was a third-team All-Mid-American Conference selection in 2008 as he registered a team-high 125 tackles. Winters is a native of Greenbelt, Md. and enters his senior season with 208 career stops. Below is a closer look at the Buffalo linebacker...
1. What are your goals for this season?
Winning the MAC, being named All-MAC and being a leader on the field.
2. What is your biggest fear?
My biggest fear is that we come up short and not win the championship.
3. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be either an NFL player or a preacher.
4. What is the best class you've taken at UB?
Hip Hop. We talk about the problems in our community and how we can fix them.
5. What are your pregame rituals?
I put the eye black on and get into warrior mode.
6. What was your first job?
I worked at a go-cart track. I would put the carts up on the racks and sometimes I would have to get on people and kick them off the track.
7. You are on a road trip and stop at a gas station, what snacks do you buy?
Gummy worms and Arizona iced tea.
8. What actor would play you in the movie of your life?
It would have to someone funny, like Chris Tucker or Chris Rock.
9. What reality TV show would you most like to be on?
The Real World
10. What is your favorite holiday?
Christmas
